The Jotspot service, aimed at creating simple group interaction tools, is now provided as part of
Google Apps and is called
Google Sites .
Almost a year and a half ago, Google bought Jotspot for an unknown amount, which provided wiki hosting to everyone. Jotspot has since been closed to register new users. Now the service will start functioning again, but it will only be available within Google Apps.
Previously, the service allowed creating simple tools for interaction between groups, for example, its own private wiki or calendar, and to distribute the rights to read and edit these resources among users. Integrated into Google Apps, it retained these properties, losing only a few design templates. At the same time, Google brought integration into the service with the rest of its applications (Picasa, YouTube, Docs and Calendar).
At the time of this writing, the service is not yet available for use by either already registered or new Google Apps users, but the Service is available to all Google Apps users (good news from @MrProRunner), on the
site you can see the demonstration service configurations.
