Future e-book

Electronic books developed using e-ink technology are gaining popularity. Quite a bit in this contributed to the release of a fairly successful Kindle from Amazon and fresh products from manufacturers such as Sony (Reader PRS) and Jinke Electronics (LBook eReader). But there is no limit to perfection. Australian student Monash University Nedzad Muychinovic offered (and made) an interesting concept of an e-book, already called Livre .

Forget about the control buttons. In the Livre concept, they are replaced by a special touch-sensitive coating (applied on top) of the e-ink screen, which allows you to manage content using convenient and simple gestures. For example, in order to turn the page, it is enough to swipe from one corner of the screen to another (a double gesture scrolls 10 pages at once). And this is already something that can make an e-book feel closer to a regular one and, accordingly, attract potential consumers who do not consider such a brainchild of progress to replace the good old hard cover. To achieve a similar effect, the use of leather as a “cover” for Livre is calculated.

Information about the characteristics of the device or the functionality for obvious reasons, no. But if one of the major manufacturers pays attention to this concept and puts the production of something similar on a stream, then this will be a rather significant step forward. Still, the price would be at the level of, say, 150-180 dollars ... But this is already quite conceptual.
