We are announcing a competition to develop a layout for a 3d kidney print.

Autodesk, 3D Bioprinting Solutions and Can Touch are looking for 3D modeling stars who want to express themselves and write their name in the history of bioprinting in Russia.

Participants in the competition are invited to create a three-dimensional design layout of one of the most complex human organs - the kidneys - in section in color. Contestants will be evaluated according to three main parameters: accuracy of reproduction in the layout of the proportions of the adult kidney; ability to work in Autodesk programs; and also creating a job ready for replication on a 3d printer.

The winner will be selected 1/25/2014. The prizes will be awarded on January 26 at the GEEK PICNIC festival.

All contestants will receive tickets to the largest festival of modern technology, science and creativity GEEK PICNIC. The winner will be awarded prizes from the organizing companies of the competition: Autodesk (the world leader in the field of three-dimensional design), Can Touch (online 3d printing service), “3D Bioprinting Solutions”. It will also provide a unique opportunity to visit the Laboratory "3D Bioprinting Solutions" - the only one of the six private laboratories in the world engaged in the development of three-dimensional bioprinting, located in Russia.

UPD1: Just in case, we explain that, within the framework of this competition, it is not a question of creating a model, with details, ready for bioprinting. In the camo of this stage, a relatively simple form is needed.

UPD2: In view of the requests of the participants to give more time for the layout, the terms of the competition were extended until February 27. March 5 will be announced and awarded the winners of the competition. Those who have already submitted work have the opportunity to modify them before the end of the extended period, if they deem it necessary
