Google simplified image search by license type

Probably for many it will be news that Google search on images allows you to use an image filter by license type. This tool was added by the company in 2009, but it was not so easy to get to it: to turn on the filter, you had to use advanced settings of the menu, where few people look.

Now the filter by license type is displayed on the main page, along with other filters, such as size, image type, image placement time, etc. Changes were made at the request of one of the founders of Creative Commons Lawrence Lessig (Lawrence Lessig).

It is worth noting that Bing, a search engine from Microsoft, introduced a similar function in July last year, placing the corresponding link on the main page, in the center.

In general, you can now easily search for pictures that are laid out in open access, with the possibility of use by third parties and companies. For companies and individuals who own websites, this feature can be very useful.
