NVIDIA GPU will allow to perform operations on the working heart
Soon for heart surgery, there will be no need to stop it and open the patient's chest. The surgeon will perform the operation with the help of manipulators connected to the heart through small punctures in the patient's chest. Microcamera real-time digitizes a beating heart, building its three-dimensional model, and special algorithms predict the next position of the heart's area of interest, and the manipulator follows it - the surgeon works in an accompanying coordinate system in which the heart is stationary. Such a huge data stream cannot be processed on conventional processors, but according to the developers, the performance of video cards is enough to provide the necessary speed of information processing.
