Retailer network Overstock.com received 130 thousand dollars for the first day after the start of taking Bitcoin

Yesterday, I wrote that the Overstock.com retail chain began accepting Bitcoin (for now, only for purchases that are sent to the US). Now there are not so many places where you can spend cryptocurrency, and the start of accepting payments in Overstock is a significant event. So, Patrick Byrne, CEO of the company, today announced that during the first day after accepting Bitcoin, the company accepted 840 payments in the amount of about 130 thousand dollars (at the current cryptocurrency rate).

At the same time, most of the buyers who decided to pay with a cryptocurrency are new buyers. In other words, the network has new customers who pay with cryptocurrency, and not with the usual monetary units. I wonder how many payments in bitcoins the company will receive over the next week / month.

130 thousand dollars - not so much for a company that receives approximately $ 3 million per day (income, not profit), but still, this is a significant amount.
