Guy arrested for inviting to join Google+

What privacy experts on the Internet call the “worst case scenario” happened to a 32-year-old resident of Massachusetts (USA). He was arrested and jailed on the basis of an invitation to join the Google+ network, sent to the girl for whom a restraining order was valid. This means that it is forbidden for him to call her, to approach the house, and so on - standard protection against sexual harassment.

Thomas Gagnon (Thomas Gagnon) says that he did not write any letters, but it was sent automatically. This did not save him from the night in the chamber.

The girl printed the invitation to Google+ and went to the police with a copy of the restraining order. They agreed that such an invitation was a violation of the injunction - and after 90 minutes the guy was arrested right in his own apartment. After a night in jail, the judge agreed to release him on bail of $ 500. She said at the same time that she did not know how such invitations were sent on the Google+ network, and she admitted that the letter was indeed sent automatically.

Ganon's lawyer said his ward was not guilty of anything, the letter was sent without his participation. Moreover, in this case, he himself is more likely a victim: the girl broke off relations with him the next day after Thomas made her an offer to marry and presented a wedding ring with diamonds worth $ 4000.

The trial is scheduled for February 6. Probably, representatives of Google will be attracted to him to clarify the situation. If the email was indeed sent automatically, then Google should be responsible.
