Samsung's smart home unveiled at CES 2014

So Samsung got to this type of systems and at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, they demonstrated the Samsung Smart Home platform.
With this platform, the user will be able to integrate smart TVs, smartphones, as well as various household and digital appliances (even a refrigerator and a washing machine) into a home network. The system is a centralized version of various individual applications, with some additional Galaxy Gear integration.

The three main features of Samsung Smart Home: Device Management, Home View and Smart Customer Service allow you to easily connect to devices anytime, anywhere. Device management will help change the settings of the equipment, regardless of whether the user is at home or outside. You can turn on or turn off air conditioning or lighting by simply clicking on the Smart Home application icon on the screen of your mobile device, combined with home appliances into one network. The possibility of voice control is also provided. It is enough to say a command for a mobile device controller that runs the application, for example, say “go out” for Samsung GALAXY Gear to turn off the lights in the house, or “good night” for the remote control so that the TV turns off. The surveillance function allows you to display the current image on the smartphone screen from the cameras in the house. Smart service will send a reminder about the need to check the equipment and help you call for service.

Samsung is also developing the so-called Smart Home software protocol (SHP) in order to integrate devices from other manufacturers into its platform.

Samsung is just one of many companies trying to make, from an ordinary house, a futuristic system controlled from a single device over the past few years, but in my opinion, Samsung’s great advantage is that not one of its competitors this field does not have such a large variety of various household appliances and gadgets produced under their brand. Therefore, Samsung doesn't interfere with capturing this market. Fortunately, few people have an urgent need to automate their homes, therefore, there is still a little time to compare prices in stores for such systems from other manufacturers, and then maybe make your own system, the benefit of articles on Habré is enough for this topic.
