Japan launched satellite communications at a speed of 1.2 Gbps
The Japan Aerospace Agency published the technical specifications of the Kizuna communication satellite, which was launched into orbit on February 23. This is a new generation satellite that was specifically designed to provide Internet to remote areas of Japan, as well as friendly countries on the continent.
A small antenna with a diameter of only 45 cm is enough to connect to the satellite. It guarantees data transfer rates of up to 155 Mbps for reception and up to 6 Mbps for transmission. If you install a five-meter antenna, then the download speed increases to 1.2 Gb / s.
A satellite weighing 2.7 tons with a solar panel size of 21.5 m was launched into a geostationary orbit at 143º East at an altitude of about 36,000 km. ')
