It is rather a continuation of the discussion on trademarks (trademarks, trademarks), started here:
habrahabr.ru/post/208100and inspired by the wonderful question:
“I wonder whether it is possible to somehow assess the impact of the name on the success of the company?”from
sferrkaWe will try to at least begin this subjective process. We hope that examples of the names and trademarks of the successful companies will give you strength in your own choice and wake up your trademark imagination, including because you will see that many successful companies did not possess such.
Considering that success in the IT industry, in theory, can also be judged by the fact that the company is included in the NASDAQ-100 index (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASDAQ-100). The index itself is NDX, but investors usually track the price of so-called QQQ power shares, that is, securities that weightedly reflect the price of 100 largest companies' shares (minus financial companies), which are actually traded on the NASDAQ (http: //en.wikipedia .org / wiki / NASDAQ with a total capitalization of over $ 4 trillion). For example, the current price for QQQ fluctuates around $ 85 ($ 65.96 is the minimum price and $ 87.96 is the maximum price for the last 52 weeks). The NASDAQ and QQQ index is considered the main measure of the situation in the IT industry, despite the fact that it includes several non-technology companies.

As of December 23, 2013, QQQ included the companies listed in the table. In the table, I also noted the types of trademarks in the names of companies, as they look at my subjective and, this time, non-professional assessment. Please note that the assessment was made superficially, so to speak, at first glance, without additional analysis or deepening of the origin of the name, so I could skip some of the meanings, so I put on a spanking - go for it!

I think this exercise should be a good help if you choose a name for your product or company. Please also note that the type of brand can strongly depend on when the brand itself was acquired or registered. The fact that, for example, previously was suggestive / fanciful / arbitrary in our time can already become descriptive. For example, registration of such a brand as Microsoft in modern conditions is problematic. I hope that your choice will be successful and accurate!
