Toyota will sell fuel cell vehicles in 2015

Toyota Corporation has long been successfully selling "hybrids", which are quite popular in Europe and the United States, despite the higher price compared to traditional cars. The company is not the first time to introduce the concepts of "hydrogen" cars, but now it was for the first time announced that in the next, 2015, such cars will go on sale.

And it will not be a point of sale, cars with fuel cells will go on sale in the whole world. True, first they will launch a test sale, in California, USA. It was here that another company, Honda, began selling its FCX Clarity.

In California, among other things, construction of a network of hydrogen gas stations will begin next year, and a lot of money will be invested in the project: 200 million US dollars.

As for the “hydrogen” cars themselves, the pre-production version is called Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle, and it will be presented next week, in Frankfurt. The car is equipped with a power plant Hybrid Synergy Drive (the same is in the Prius). In addition, two high-pressure tanks for hydrogen were installed, as well as a 21 kWh battery.

According to the developers, a distance of about 560 kilometers will be covered by one hydrogen refueling car. True, the price will be very high: 110 thousand US dollars.
