The creators of Gorilla Glass presented the glass with protection against bacteria
Corning announced the completion of the development of antimicrobial glass Gorilla Glass, writes The Verge. The company, whose glass is used in a variety of smartphones, announced that it had developed a new glass last year, but decided to officially present the product at CES.
At the exhibition, Corning will demonstrate the antimicrobial properties of glass to visitors. According to the company, this “the world's first EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) registered antimicrobial protective glass” will prevent the spread of algae, mold fungi, mold, fungi and bacteria. The secret of the new Gorilla Glass is to use ionic silver, which is embedded in its structure at such a level that it does not interfere with image quality and durability. Because silver is used throughout the structure, Corning claims that its antimicrobial properties will last for the entire duration of its use. ')
The new glass is currently being tested by a number of manufacturers and, obviously, will soon be integrated into smartphones, tablets and other touch devices.
