The creators of PirateBay figured out how to protect against blocking

The long-suffering torrent tracker team PirateBay spoke about its plans for the future, in particular, about how exactly they are planning to deal with blockages of sites dealing with the distribution of illegal content.

Technically, this is about creating a new P2P platform, the clients of which will be both individual applications and plugins for Firefox or (and) Chrome. In particular, a site that would like to join the PirateBay idea, when visiting, offers to install some extension for users or a plugin that essentially saves the contents of the tracker database locally for anyone who allows it. Thus, it turns out that for the life of such a “super-distributed” tracker, it is enough to provide only a minimal interface for searching and seeding content, and in the case of its central blocking, all links will be available via the P2P network from other users.

The size of the downloadable database will vary for different trackers - PirateBay estimates this range from a few dozen megabytes for modest sites to several gigabytes, probably having in mind your site. If the database index content is updated, the distributed clients will also pick up the update and synchronize with it.

Also, as an additional measure, it is proposed to abandon the existing DNS-system, and use its own, created specifically for the platform. The owner of the tracker will be able to register the site URL in the form of some verified and public key, approximately of this type 929548249111abadfjab29347282374.p2p - convenience in this case is brought in for security. To “untie” the site from real owners, you can use your Bitcoin wallet number to register with DNS from PirateBay,

The status of the project at the moment - the search for developers, so, probably, one cannot expect some fundamental changes in the near future.
