Pakistani Internet provider for two hours has deprived the world of access to YouTube

Following the recent interruption in the work of the Amazon services, YouTube has been subjected to a similar fate - but this time through no fault of its own.

According to a report on the site OpenDNS, "Pakistani telecommunications company decided (probably by accident) to capture the address space of IP addresses of YouTube" - because of what, according to a video hosting representative, both the site and numerous videos on third-party resources were unavailable for two hours . Shortly before this, a message passed in the news agencies that the government of Pakistan ordered all providers in the country to block access to YouTube because of the “blasphemous” content of some video materials posted on it, for example, the animated films about the Prophet Mohammed, which revolted many Muslims. And, it is quite possible that in fulfilling this request, the Pakistani provider PieNet erroneously “assigned” addresses that did not belong to it, which immediately affected the work of the video service owned by Google.

But, as rightly noted on TechCrunch, “is it really that simple to“ put ”one of the largest web services in the world”?
