This week, NASA celebrated the 45th anniversary of the
Rising Earth : a fascinating photograph of the Earth, towering above the lunar surface. This photograph is one of the most significant NASA ever made, and it was taken in 1968 from the Apollo 8 spacecraft.

Then, on December 24, three astronauts -
Jim Lovell ,
William Anders and crew commander
Frank Borman - captured the minds of the American nation, as they were the first people to make a manned flight to the Moon. During her flyby,
William Anders took a photo that would later become one of the most iconic in the history of mankind.
')
Jim Lovell , one of the aforementioned astronauts, celebrated his anniversary at the
Chicago Museum of Science and Industry . Illinois's governor,
Pat Quinn, said:
βI hope this event will inspire a new generation of researchers .
β
Jim Lovell in the center, Pat Quinn shakes his hand.NASA has published a series of films telling about shooting photos and related events. We should also mention the episode when the camera caught the image of the cracked moon of the Moon, while astronauts read Bible verses describing the creation of the world. Apollo 8 circled the moon 10 times, with the last astronauts reading the Book of Genesis and the first 10 commandments.
βThis is the basis of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, β
Jim Lovell commented on the choice of Genesis. -
It is the basis of most world religions. They are all based on the Old Testament. βSubsequently,
Frank Borman said that the appearance of the Earth, hanging in the void of outer space, still remains one of the most exciting events that occurred to him in space.
βWe looked over the lunar surface β and there was Earth, β says the commander, β
and she was so beautiful with her variety of colors. I think that all three of us were then in complete ecstasy. "It is worth saying that the first such photograph was taken with the help
of Lunar Orbiter-1 in 1966, which became the first American artificial satellite of the Moon.
