Starting a series of articles on Habré about STARTTOSPEAK.COM, I’ll tell you what the project is about and why, how it all began, what is new in it and why it will be interesting for the end user.

From the very beginning

It all started from personal experience, from the need to improve my (my) spoken English. I wanted to learn to speak English well and correctly. Climbing the Internet, I tried to find something similar to a speech simulator. To my surprise, such large services as Livemocha.com, Busuu.com, LingvaLeo.com, did not offer users anything similar. Yes, there are a lot of things to learn the language in game and non-game manners, but I do not want to learn words - I want to speak! But at the same time I am still good enough to communicate with a native speaker, and in general I’m too shy to speak. And then the thought came - using the possibilities of speech recognition and synthesis to create my own project so that the user, for example, I could improve my pronunciation in a foreign language, as well as listening skills. About the technical and creative aspects of development - until I get there, I will leave room for our next posts. So,

What do we offer users?

On the website STARTTOSPEAK.COM posted lessons and courses for training speech equipment. Register or go through the social networks (as I do) and start the lesson you like, click the start button and start talking!

We answer questions, maintain a dialogue, insert words - depending on the type of exercise chosen, you speak a foreign language, the application recognizes your answers and gives the result of each action in the exercise, the result of passing the exercise as a whole and even the course if you pass all course exercises. At any time, you can write comments, click on an exercise or course you like, add them to your favorites, and subscribe to the author ... Stop,

And who makes these exercises and courses?

At the moment, this is the team of authors and the editors of STARTTOSPEAK.COM. But as soon as we introduce monetization, the situation will change. A professional in the language sphere, let's call it the author, will be given the opportunity to place his study materials in our format and to earn on it. The author will be interested to offer the user a good course, so that he acquired it and began to undergo training. At the same time, the author is entitled to open his materials for free. Editing is required for all materials in order to maintain a high level of educational materials on average. Thus, we will launch the engine of market relations, where all parties win: the user, the author, and we, the STARTTOSPEAK.COM team.

What is our benefit?

We will charge a reasonable commission from the authors for providing software tools and editing educational materials. Therefore, we are interested in good authors! We will not take anything if the author puts the course for free.

Other features?

As part of the project, we can develop additional educational functionality for individual orders, for example, for a linguistic school or a university.
