Chinese moon rover sent photos

On the moon, the moonwalker Yuuta, which is part of the Chinese space mission Chang'e-3, has been traveling around the moon for a whole week. Thanks to this device, China became the third country after the USSR and the USA, which carried out a soft landing on the moon. After six years, the Chinese plan to deliver regolith (lunar soil) to Earth.

On December 15, Yuuta undocked from the landing module and began to send photos. The picture above was taken on December 22, 2013 from the lander. In the early days, Yuytu traveled around him, and then went on an independent journey south.

The moon rover is solar powered, heating is carried out using a radioisotope heating element and two-phase liquid circuits. His mission is to analyze the lunar soil.

Wikipedia reports that Yuytu is the first lunar rover in more than 40 years since the end of the Soviet Lunokhod-2 activity on May 11, 1973. His landing on the moon is the first soft landing on the moon since 1976, after the Soviet AMS Luna-24.

Yuytu moonwalker has a size of 1.5 meters in length, 1 meter in width and 1.1 meter in height, its weight is 140 kg. Six-wheel apparatus designed to work for three months. Its equipment allows photographing and video broadcasting. Lunokhod is able to pass up to 200 meters per hour, and during its service period it must “wind” 10 kilometers.
