Search for black holes on a home computer

In the center of almost every galaxy there is a black hole. The larger the galaxy, the bigger the black hole and the more noticeable is the magnificent effect it has on the surrounding space-time. Supermassive black holes draw matter a billion times more in weight than our Sun, and by chance contribute to the emergence of bright energy emitters on their borders. Typically, these emitters do not broadcast in the visible range of radiation, but they can be detected using radio telescopes.

Astronomers turned for help to a wide community of users in the hope that they could identify these black holes in the photographs. You need to look for the characteristic emitters on the borders of the black hole. To start the search, simply go to the site http://radio.galaxyzoo.org/ and click the button “Start Hunting” (Begin Hunting).
