Assessing the impact of the Internet on the life of modern man, researchers from the USA and the UK decided to study web science as a separate branch of knowledge. From now on, web science will be studied along with computer science, information technology and other areas of human knowledge.
Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, together with staff from the University of Southampton, will participate in a web science research program. The campaign is led by a leading researcher at MIT, a professor at Southampton University and the director of the W3C consortium, Tim Berners-Lee.
