Hi, application developers and everyone interested!
Not so long ago, we talked about DVLUP, our loyalty program for developers, and now there is another reason to talk again about this - the project has come to Russia, or rather, to us, here, on Habr !
')
Why is DVLUP good?
In short, it’s because of writing applications for Windows Phone 8, Nokia Asha, and soon for Windows 8 you get good “buns”.
The new DVLUP developer will serve as a good starting point, where he can find help and bring his ideas to life. Advanced coders can once again practice writing applications and get promo support for their offspring. And, of course, each program participant will be able to accumulate points and exchange them for prizes and other pleasant trivia.
How to become a member of the program?
Very simple - on the Russian-language page of DVLUP you need to find the section “Register with DVLUP”. If you are developing on Windows Phone, then you will need to “tie” your Microsoft Developer Account to your DVLUP account. If for some reason you do not have a Microsoft Developer Account yet, you can create it using this link . If you are planning to develop applications for the Asha platform, you will need a Nokia Publisher ID, which can be obtained here .
Perhaps you wondered what it was for? We answer: to simplify the process of scoring. The fact is that the DVLUP system is directly tied to the “Windows Phone App Store” and “Nokia Store”. Therefore, you do not have to send ready-made applications to any sites - you can immediately publish them in the store. The system will automatically recognize all published applications and charge you points.
What's next?
And then nothing complicated - you just complete tasks from those offered on our site and earn points of two kinds: XP - experience points and PTS - points that can be used to promote your own applications, get devices, accessories or other awards.
But it's still better to start with simple tasks: in addition to linking your Publisher GUID to a profile in DVLUP, you can post a DVLUP badge in your profile for one month or write a post on your blog about the history of participation in our developer support program. For each of these three tasks you will receive 100 PTS. And if you invite two friends who add their Publisher GUID to the DVLUP profile, you will receive another 300 PTS.
When these tasks will be completed, you can proceed to the main part . For example, it is possible to get as much as 5000 XP if your application has a 4-star rating and 1000 reviews in the Nokia Store, or earn 400 XP for creating an application for Windows Phone that will use the HERE service.
But no matter what you do, remember that by creating high-quality applications, you can also get extra points and discover even more possibilities.
How to spend XP and PTS?
Among the things available for purchase are various devices and accessories, as well as gift cards and development tools. And that's not all: you can invest points in yourself, or rather in your application, by buying any of 3 types of promotion campaigns: merchandising, marketing or advertising.
Afterword:
Many developers, who have already taken part in the DVLUP program, say that this all seems not like some kind of competition or hackathon, but rather a coder MMORPG, and we cannot but disagree. So, maybe it's time to pump your character?
