Electronic children on billboards react to real planes

The other day I read a topic on Habré (alas, I can’t find it), where the author spoke about his passion for aviation and how he admires air traffic. I caught this phrase, but for a slightly different reason. The fact is that a week before this I saw a similar news, but from a completely different area - from advertising.



So, imagine you are standing in a traffic jam near the airport. Here is a billboard screen advertising British Airways. On the screen a small child and the usual advertising text. But as soon as a real plane belonging to British Airways appears in the sky, the on-screen child gets up and points to it with a finger. At the same time on the billboard appears text of the form "look, it flies flight BA431 from Amsterdam." Or "Here is the flight to the Maldives, the minimum price for a ticket is so much."

Interestingly, for the implementation of the idea did not need to make some kind of very complicated garden. Billboard receives regular updates of flight schedules, data from the transpoder and GPS coordinates of flying aircraft. Well, and starts the movie at the right time. It seems like everything is simple, but what is the effect!
