With great pleasure, I switched to Firefox 3 - a lot of nice improvements in terms of convenience.
The only problem that this version of FF has now is incompatibility with plugins written for earlier versions and not the desire of some developers to write updates to their crafts for beta releases.
One of these capricious plug-ins was the plugin from the social bookmarking service del.icio.us. The support service said so: until the release comes out, you will not see the new plug-in.
Well then.
')
del.icio.us/help - “buttons” are installed from here (bookmarking category).
There are two versions of the plugin: the old one installed by the “firefox extension” link and the new one installed by the “* new * firefox bookmarks extension” link.
The FF plugin is usually a file with the xpi extension, which you need to open for installation from the File menu item or drag it bluntly onto a browser window.
The xpi format is a zip-archive with the darkness of the files inside, ensuring its operability and functionality.
The first step is to download the plug-in files for the old or new version to the computer (right click on the installation link and the “save as” option), then open, for example, 7Zip and edit (F4 to 7Zip) the text file located in the archive root "Install.rdf".
You need to change the string em: maxVersion = "2.0.0. *" To em: maxVersion = "3.0.0. *".
Save the changes in the archive and perform the installation.
Remarks.
The old version installs and works without any problems, the new one is naughty, does not synchronize the sidebar. Rumor has it that synchronization problems are also found among FF2 users. Is it so - check laziness, who knows - sign off.
