Technoserv , a Russian systems integrator, and IBM announce the opening of the first Russian competence center for solutions on the IBM System z platform.
The competence center deployed a software and hardware complex based on the IBM zEnterprise 114 (z114) mainframe class computing system and DS8870 data storage system, and also uses the z / VM 6.3, z / OS system software and the DB2 10.5 database system.
The competence center will include functional and load testing of software products on the IBM System z platform to demonstrate the operation of ERP systems, business intelligence, cloud computing for customers from various industries, as well as porting applications to the IBM System z platform. In addition, the new competence center will allow certification of software and hardware complexes for compliance with the requirements of regulatory organizations.

The competence center is based in Moscow on the territory of the Technoserv technical center. The competence center involved several engineering divisions of the Technoserv company. The total number of engineers at the time of opening the center was 30 people.
In the future, Technoserv plans to increase the number of software and hardware systems, as well as deploying a stand on portal solutions based on IBM WebSphere software on the basis of the competence center.
