Space company Blue Origin successfully tested the engines for its launch vehicle
The space industry is now developing very actively, which is good news. And in this - the merit of private space companies. Interestingly, some such companies have already developed and launched their own launch vehicles and spacecraft (including SpaceX). And some - just develop everything you need. So, Blue Origin, created by Jeff Bezos (founder of Amazon) is now testing the engine for its launch vehicle.
Successful testing of engines was conducted on November 20, and information about this appeared only now. The engine itself is called BE-3, and it refers to the type of hydrogen-oxygen engines. In test mode, the engine was turned on twice. The first time it was turned on for 2.5 minutes, and the second - for a minute. It took several minutes between the inclusions; this is the mode, according to experts, characteristic of suborbital flights. ')
It is worth noting that Blue Origin is participating in the program Commercial Crew Development Round 2, launched by NASA. Under this program, the agency provides access to their practices to private companies. Of course, not by anyone, but only by those that meet the requirements of the program. NASA and Blue Origin also collaborate on the development of the company's spacecraft.
