Steam Machine from iBuyPower - we meet in January

The other day, a fairly well-known PC maker iBuyPower showed a prototype of the Steam Machine console. This console, as mentioned earlier on Habré, will work exclusively with games of the Steam service. Now became known appearance of the console, as well as some characteristics and capabilities of the device.



There is no need to talk about design - everything is clear. True, the photo shows only one of the two types of device, since two types of console are released: the one shown in the pictures, it will be called Gordon. Another variety is black, without any luminous stripes. The name of this console, as you might guess, is Freeman.

As for the characteristics of the device, the console will be equipped with a powerful processor from AMD (which is not yet reported), an AMD R9 270 graphics adapter with 1280 stream processors, as well as 2 GB GDDR5. As for the internal memory, the user will be available 500 GB - standard hard drive. Of course, there are wireless modules and Wi-Fi Bluetooth.











There is no drive in the console, because, as mentioned above, the console is “sharpened” exclusively for the Steam service. It is worth noting that games with a resolution of 1080p will play with 60 fps, which is very good.







The price of this pleasure is $ 499, the kit also includes a new type of game controller, which all Steam fans already know.







As far as can be judged, the console will be officially announced at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, at a joint presentation by representatives of Steam and iBuyPower.
