How to safely read Habr at work using our information security screens
Good afternoon, dear habra users!
In this article, we will talk about films that allow you to remain confident that no one except you will see the information from your screen.
')
We will analyze the urgency of the problem with spying and tell you how to implement the technology from the technical side.
PS No more TM and.

In situations:
in a cafe with a laptop
in the office at the computer
in the subway with a tablet / phone
quite unpleasant when a person next monitors the activities on the screen.
We even have a very funny simulation of situations:
In the cafe
In the bus
About the idea of the product.
American researchers have established a direct relationship between how comfortable a person is at a computer, and its performance. Given the urgency of the problem, we have created a solution to ensure the visual protection of information and increase employee productivity.
In Russia, the introduction of a policy of protection of visual information in the professional sphere is now only beginning. Basically, the assessment of potential damage from the loss of visual data and ideas for their protection come from the West.
For example, in our company, and in many others, there is a special policy that says about the duty of an employee not to disclose corporate information and ensure its protection by means of preventing the reading of visual data from monitors while working in public places.
And where else does it apply?
In the banking sector, in the medical industry, in government structures, in offices - the protection of visual information is an integral part of security.
Comparison
No one needs to explain why information protection is needed if someone stands behind a person who enters a password at an ATM and checks the balance of funds in an account. Yes, there are ATMs that print the balance in the check, but there are those that show the number on the screen. Many banking machines already use visual data protection technologies, as this is the most obvious application.
There is no need to even talk about the relevance of this decision in the open-space office.
So how does it work?
There is light from the screen, but no images.
From a technical point of view, the technology is similar to window blinds, only this is “wrapped” in optical films and reduced to 0.8 mm thick. In the figure below, the information security screen in the section.
In fact, it is a thin and flexible black film, which is placed on the screen in adhesive attachments. You can quickly remove it and show the screen to your colleagues if necessary. Or just before going on a business trip to set the screen for comfortable work on the road.
This material is called ALCF - Vikuiti Advanced Light Control Film Anti-glare 60 ° and is an optical film that limits the amount of light passing at angles greater than 60 degrees.
The outer material is polycarbonate, the partition layer consists of acrylic resin and carbon black.
The viewing angle is equal to the sum of the angles (0 and φ), set aside from the direction of maximum transmission, at which only 5% of the maximum transmission of light passes through the film.
Partition angle: 0 ° ± 2 °
Viewing angle: 60 ° ± 4 °
Colour:
The color coordinate X according to the classification 1931 CIE: 0,317 ± 0,02
The color coordinate Y of the classification 1931 CIE: 0,335 ± 0,02

Photometer: Electro-optical photometer with photometric filter and aperture with 2.5-inch field of view
Light source: 50W halogen lamp - Oriel 50W Quartz Tungsten Halogen Lamp with stabilized power supply and diffuser.
The order of execution:
Rotate the sample to the position where the photometer will show the maximum transmittance.
Record the appropriate angle of the partitions.
Viewing angle
Photometer: Electro-optical photometer with photometric filter and aperture with 2.5-inch field of view
Light source: 50W halogen lamp - Oriel 50W Quartz Tungsten Halogen Lamp with stabilized power supply and diffuser.
The order of execution:
Multiply the maximum transmittance obtained by measuring at an angle of observation by 0.05.
Turn the sample to the left or right until the calculated value is obtained on the photometer.
Record a corner.
Turn the sample in the opposite direction until the calculated value is obtained on the photometer.
Record a corner.
The sum of the two recorded angles is equal to the observation angle.

Measurement: Transmit
Equipment: BYK Gardner Colorsphere
Procedure: Measure the color coordinates X and Y according to the 1931 CIE classification.
ALCF tests are conducted under the following conditions on a loose film. Under these conditions, no significant changes occur.
Test
Condition
Moisture resistance
70 ° C, 95% relative humidity, 48 hours
Heat resistance
120 ° C for 24 hours
Heatstroke
From -35 ° to 85 ° C, 10 full cycles for 11 hours each
Side view:
We did not specifically fix the film so that the brightness of the screen could be seen.

By the way, the Federal Law of the Russian Federation dated July 27, 2006 No. 152- “On Personal Data” (current version of 04.19.2013), regulates the rules for handling and protecting confidential information.
The maximum angle of attack of visibility.
Another screen serves to physically protect the display from scratches and damage - the polycarbonate coating is strong enough.
There are formats for any monitors and laptops, even a specialized series for Apple computers here .
In our portfolio you can find films to protect information on the displays of mobile devices. It differs from the computer only in that for smartphones a film with a glue layer is glued in the same way as a normal protective film and performs the same functions, including protecting information.
In addition to information protection films, there are also transparent protective films: an ultra-transparent series to increase the display brightness, an anti-glare series and anti-fingerprint films.
The optical division of our company initially produced films for the production of displays: an increase in brightness, contrast, as well as polarizing and reflective films.
The main ideas of optical films - improving the energy efficiency of displays, image quality and viewing angle, reducing the weight and thickness of displays.
If you disassemble the screen of a TV, monitor or phone, you will surely find our optical films.

The same professional optical filters and adhesives are used for "civilian" protective films for phones.
And how much does it cost? Where can one buy?
