The deplorable situation with the delivery of goods and correspondence through the "Post of Russia" is well known to everyone. Almost everyone had to wait for a parcel from an online store for 2-3 months instead of 2-3 weeks.
The new management of Post of Russia has resorted to an extraordinary way to unload warehouses and speed up the delivery of correspondence. They decided to outsource some directions, that is, to hire outside carriers. Perhaps the work of private companies will help correct the situation.
The company will hold a special contest in which 77 trunk and 122 intrasite routes will be played, Deputy Director General of Russian Post Alexey Skatin said today in
an interview with RBC Daily, which now coordinates the work of FSUE in the field of logistics. Prior to this, the manager has been managing logistics for five years at Baltika. Judging by the assortment of stores in every Russian city, Alexey did an excellent job. It remains to wish him success in the new position.

“All the road haulage carried out by our company can be divided into two categories - these are transportation by own and hired transport,” said Alexey Skatin. - “Mail of Russia” owns large-tonnage trucks for regional routes, but the main part of the fleet is still small-tonnage transport, which is engaged in delivery from post offices to branches. In total, our postal park has about 15,000 units. ” According to him, the management of “Mail” has no goal to replace its own transport, and the competition, which will soon be announced, should involve third-party companies for cooperation.
Several third-party road carriers are currently working at the Post of Russia. Contracts with them end in December, after which they will be able to take part in the competition along with other applicants. Now the road transport services of the Post of Russia are provided by LLC PEK, LLC Pervaya Transkompaniya, OJSC Lorry, LLC Voronezh-Avto.
Each lot is a direction from point A to point B. Those who offer the lowest fare on the route and will meet the requirements, he won. "There is no ceiling in the number of participants in the competition, I think that we will be able to attract several dozen companies," says the new manager.
“I think that later we will make a prerequisite the presence of GLONASS sensors in each attracted car, so that in the future it will be possible to connect all the machines to our single dispatch center,” notes the deputy director of Post of Russia. Probably, in this case, each user will be able to see the location of the parcel at any time, even if it is in the back of a moving car.
PS Most likely, in December 2013, the law on the privatization of the Post of Russia
will be submitted to the State Duma . Sale of shares will bring several billion dollars, which are used for
cutting the modernization of the enterprise.
