An article about the head of the Kaspersky Lab company in the London Guardian newspaper dated January 31 contained, as it
turned out later, an inaccuracy. Actually, it was already noticeable from one of its names - “Former KGB employee tracks down cybercriminals” (
The ex-KGB man stalking the cybercriminals ). And the point is not that today Kaspersky no longer follows the trail of computer intruders, but mostly they are looking for ways to bypass his defense. The fact is that Evgeny Valentinovich never served in the KGB, even in the modest rank of lieutenant, ascribed to him by an English journalist.
The rest is very positive and filled with hints of romance of the fight against world evil, the article is definitely worth reading. And the fact of its publication in the press in such a popular and respected newspaper suggests that Western society is fully capable of accepting the successes of Russian companies and does not always think in stereotypes (bears are not mentioned in the text at all, and the balalaika only once!). But many of us have no doubts about this anymore ...
They also refuted the data that at the site of Trojans killed by Kaspersky Anti-Virus and the like, traces of radiation were found leading to the threshold of the building on Lubyanka.
