Pole built a musical instrument designed by Leonardo da Vinci (+ video performance)

This news is difficult to identify in any hub, and for Habr it does not quite fit, however, the news deserves our attention. The fact is that the great Leonardo da Vinci once designed a musical instrument that could be an interesting addition to the instruments of classical music. But the instrument was not built during the life of the great thinker, nor, for a very long period of time, after his death.

And only many centuries later, a Pole named Slawomir Zubritsky (Slawomir Zubrzycki) recreated this tool in reality. The instrument itself is a cross between a piano and a cello, in any case, the Polish master says so.

And indeed, this instrument can be described as a keyboard-string-stringed. Outwardly, everything seems to be like a piano, but inside there is a feature. Namely - four rotating wheels, on the rim of which horsehair is stretched. Wheels constantly rotate, thanks to a foot pedal on which the musician should step. And when you press a certain tool key, a string is lowered onto the wheel, and horse hair rubs against it.

The sound is quite interesting, and below you can listen to several musical compositions performed by the creator of the instrument.

The tool is very complex, it took the Pole 5000 hours to recreate it according to the da Vinci project. The tool is called Viola Organista.
