At the World Mobile Congress 2008 in Barcelona, Access will show cross-platform and related software for phones based on its Access Linux Platform (ALP) operating system. Among other things, the transcoder for websites and the DVB-H version of the NetFront browser will be presented.

The web has a specialized portal for developers of applications for Linux platform ACCESS, developed as a replacement for PalmOS.
The application development package (SDK) is already available on the site - the ACCESS Linux Platform Development Suite, the ACCESS Garnet VM virtual machine for running ACCESS Garnet OS (Palm OS Garnet) applications in the ACCESS Linux Platform environment and the package for testing applications for platform compatibility - ACCESS Garnet VM Compatibility Kit.
Included SDK:
- Eclipse-based development tools;
- Glade 3 / GTK based interface editor
- Platform simulator
- Tools for cross-compiling applications for the ARM architecture;
- Documentation and libraries.
Access has also announced that it has entered the LiMo Foundation organization, the number of participants has reached 32. The most famous are: Motorola, NEC, Panasonic, Samsung, AMD, LG Electronics.
PS Actually, it is not very clear what relation ALP has to PalmOS and whether something will remain in it from there. Screenshots cause no emotion. Judging by the letters "DVB-H", the Japanese are doing something for themselves ...
