Google showed a tricky WebGL world for mobile Chrome

The latest update of Google Chrome for Android led to the fact that the screen scrolls strongly and twitches and the use of the browser has become extremely uncomfortable - users' reaction to this problem, which is not going to be fixed in the near future, can be seen in the comments in the Play Market.

A team of engineers as part of the previously known experimental project Chrome Experiment showed a new project " The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug " (based on Tolkien's The Hobbit, a shortened link immediately for an un-corrupted browser update: goo.gl/EOdnHI ), created specifically for mobile Chrome.


The authors rightly believe that if Chrome for Android already has technologies such as WebRTC, WebAudio and WebGL in its arsenal, then why not use them?

The site (Russian language is supported) is an interactive map of Middle-earth with a legend, with which you can navigate through locations - you can look at Rivendell, for example. Clicking on the map objects opens the second layer, the movement in which is similar to a regular game - while maintaining interaction with some objects and the background sound of the game.
