Best phone of 2008?

This, of course, smacks of advertising in some way, but ... The comrades from the GSM Association , obviously having previously consulted properly, called it “the best phone of 2008”. Despite the fact that the year has just begun, despite the release of many potentially hit products from "big" manufacturers, the music phone from the Walkman line, the Sony Ericsson W910, was named the phone of the year.

The phone itself is not at all bad. Music plays and is generally wonderful, equipped with a 2.4-inch display, FM-radio, etc. on the list: almost all included. But, what made the GSM Association serious organization to announce the phone of the year (and what kind of competition is this?) In its [current year] beginning? And why Sony Ericsson W910? Who thinks about this? Just advertising and everything?
