Will nVidia buy AMD?

It seems that major changes are outlined in the market of the largest iron producers. It's no secret that AMD has been experiencing serious difficulties lately, forcing analysts to consider the possible sale of this company. One analyst from American Technology Research, Doug Freedman (Doug Freedman) considers the most likely buyer of AMD its longtime competitor - nVidia.

If this event happens, then nVidia will reach the level of a competitor Intel, while practically monopolizing the video chip market. Competition with Intel is probably good, but monopoly is much worse. I think everyone can draw conclusions about why this is bad and what is fraught for the end user.

On the other hand, by getting AMD / ATI power into its hands, nVidia can reach a qualitatively new level of technological solutions. Well, time will tell.
