CASSANDRA CONF 2013. Ekaterinburg, December 9

On December 9, the first conference in Russia devoted to Cassandra's NoSQL storage will be held in Yekaterinburg. We have already formed the CassandraConf.ru program and invite both experienced developers and those who want to get acquainted with Cassandra for the first time to join!

Participation in the conference is free - come!

Under the cut - the program of the event and details

Apache Cassandra is a distributed database management system that belongs to the noSQL-systems class and is designed to create highly scalable and reliable storages of large data arrays. C * provides almost linear scalability with increasing data volume - an advantage that is difficult to overestimate.

assandraconf.ru is a pioneer in this field. The purpose of the conference is to create a community of Cassandra users. Cassandra is very convenient, but it is little used in Russia, mainly due to the lack of information.
The conference organizers - IT-People and SKB Kontur make the conference as accessible and interesting as possible for everyone: admission to the conference is free. Optionally, you can order a package of food on the day of its holding.

The event is also supported by one of the leaders in the development of commercial solutions based on Cassandra - DataStax.

What will happen:

- Reports from DataStax developers from London and New York, defining the vector of C * development and the experience of global companies (reports from foreign speakers will be read in English without translation).
- Reports of Russian developers using Cassandra in their projects (in Russian).

The event has two blocks: for advanced users and for beginners. Therefore, we invite both those who have already appreciated the capabilities of the system and want to learn about bottlenecks and difficult use cases, as well as those who are only thinking of using Cassandra in their project.

Program:

Jonathan Ellis, DataStax. Apache Cassandra 2.0 and 2.1
This will be a great deal to make it possible to use data such as Adobe, CERN, eBay, Instagram, and Spotify. It will make it possible to understand the application of data modeling.
Cassandra plays in modern scale-out architectures. Cassandra 2.0 and the upcoming 2.1 release.

Aleksey Yeschenko, DataStax. Data Modeling with CQL3
The report will discuss time series, collections, secondary indexes, CAS, user types (2.1).

Aaron Morton, The Last Pickle. High level debugging

Axel Liljencrantz, Spotify. Cassandra performance. Underlying details of the compaction strategies

Track for advanced:

Oleg Anastasyev, Classmates. Closer to Cassandra
We use Cassandra to store business data that does not fit in RAM. The volume of such data usually increases rapidly, and the data itself is often requested by users. Moreover, such data should also always be available, because accessibility is one of the primary goals of a social network.
Students will learn about the problems of working with Cassandra in systems with a high reading load, approaches to defining and resolving conflict records, problems storing large amounts of information and how these problems are solved in Odnoklassniki.

Ivan Burmistrov and Fedor Fominykh, SKB Kontur. Strictly oriented sequence of time events

Olga Soboleva and Kirill Ivanov, SKB Kontur. Transaction processing on the example of a telecommunications company

Track for beginners:

Evgeny Tikhonov, SKB Kontur . Introduction to Cassandra

Alexander Solovyov. Cassandra in e-commerce

- project description: system requirements, high-level architecture, reasons for migration from In-Memory Data Grid to Cassandra
- a description of the steps that have helped improve performance (TPS and / or latency).
- a description of what did not lead to a significant improvement, and an explanation of why it did not work.

Maxim Sychev and Alexander Kokovin, SKB Kontur. How we moved to Cassandra

Yevgeny Kurpilyansky, SKB Kontur. Indexing over Cassandra

And on December 10, DataStax will hold a master class for experienced developers. Details - a little later.

Come - it will be interesting!

And - we have a couple more free slots for reports. If you have something to share with colleagues - write to elena@it-people.ru
