About a year it took us to sell the first million Raspberry Pi. Based on this, we calculated that if we were lucky, we would sell the second million devices by January 2014 or a little later — well, by the end of February 2014 for sure. What was our surprise when at the end of this week we were given sales data and it turned out that the
2,000,000th Raspberry Pi was sold in the last week of October ! We don’t even know who got it - if you made a purchase with us between October 24 and 31 - maybe you have it. (Maybe he even went to Prince Andrew, who visited us on Halloween)
In February 2012, the first 2000 Raspberry Pi were made in China (this later we moved production to the UK). By March, they were taken to the garage to Jack, where Eben and I divided them into two boxes of 1,000 each, put them in the trunk of our cars and took them to Farnell and RS Components headquarters.

The devices were packed in boxes of 50 pieces, combined into the 2000th pallet.

The news of the sale of 2,000,000 Raspberry Pi led us to the idea that each Raspberry Pi in this pallet symbolizes 1000 Raspberry Pi sold around the world.
When we started this journey, we could not imagine that we would be here: and this is all thanks to you, Thank you!
