Sonic Solutions reports that its technology for recording music and video on CD and DVD will be used in Windows Vista, which will be officially launched in January 2007.
Sonic also reports that, in conjunction with Microsoft, it is working on applications that are certified for a future operating system, primarily on the company's main product, Roxio Easy Media Creator 9.
Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft uses Sonic AuthorScript technology in Windows to burn video and slideshows to DVDs, as well as record audio CDs and data discs. The financial side of the transaction was not disclosed.
