Communication on the Internet: before and now

In connection with the widespread use of social networks (Vk, Facebook, Classmates, My World), the need for alternative means of communication on the Internet for the most part disappears. I bet that before, most users had at least ICQ, Jabber, IRC and a bunch of accounts in various forums and chats. Now, the range of communications used has narrowed to Vk / Facebook and Skype. I would like to conduct a small survey on this topic. After receiving the survey data, one could make an infographic on this topic.
