Chinese Hackspace: Chaihuo Make Space

One of the participants in the Moscow Hackspace "Neuron" recently had the good fortune to be in the Chinese Chaihuo Make Space . Surely many people wonder what the hacker space movement in other countries looks like. Under the cut a small text review and a decent bunch of interesting photos (traffic!).

Few words

Make Space itself is located in an area that can be compared to ARTPLAY in Moscow. That is, this is a quarter for designers, artists and creative people. Offices, shops, a bit of everything. The front of Make Space is a theme shop for a hackspace audience. If you go deeper, there is one room with a large table + a second floor for workplaces of VIP participants.

In Chaihuo Make Space there are three types of memberships: 168 ¥ (you can attend events for free), 512 ¥ (you can visit the hackspace every day and work), 1024 ¥ (VIP-level = keys, work at any time, access to private meetings). Course 1 ¥ = 6 rubles.
')
On Wednesdays and Sundays in the evening there are seminars. On Thursdays, meetings are held closed DIY-club. At the moment (autumn 2013) there are 20 paid members, of which 4 are VIP. A lot of people go to events, formally not being participants in a hackspace. An example of the theme of one of the seminars is a paper report about batteries as thick as paper. Present about 30-40 people. Attendance of the event - 20 ¥.

Financing structure: 50% earn on dues, fees for events and store. 50% sponsors. One of the sponsors is the famous Seeed Studio.
