A free Jelastic appeared in Russia

Since the first appearance of our Java & PHP platform , one of the biggest wishes we heard was: “give the free version”. We, of course, cannot give this - hosting is provided by our partners. But one of our Russian partners, Infobox , began testing this model. Let us tell you how they do it.

Freemium is a model that allows you to use a product to a certain amount completely free. Later, when the project grows and becomes large and serious, it will not be a pity for the client to pay.

The catch is always in how to delineate the boundaries correctly, so that users are happy, and good projects in the end really bring money to the manufacturer.

In the implementation of Infobox, the restriction is quite simple - on consumed resources.
Up to 3 keys (that is, up to 128 MB * 3 = 384 MB of RAM) are not charged. But it is required that the money on the balance sheet be.

Those. You register here: http://infoboxcloud.ru/jelastic/ - this gives you a five-day completely free trial period.

After five days, go to the paid version:

upgrade account

And throw money into the account - the minimum payment is 500 rubles (it can be more).

And further, if you remain within the framework of these 384 MB, then your 500 rubles continue to lie on the account and not be wasted:

(Well, or almost do not spend money: disk space costs about 0.7 kopecks per hour per gigabyte - so for 1 gigabyte, they will take about 5 rubles per month.)

As a result, you can develop your application at virtually no cost, using, for example, a Tomcat server with three cloudlets. Or, deploy WordPress, Drupal, Play !, Cyclos, or another similar application using one server cloud and two for the database.

Outside of free use, you can get additional resources at 25 kopecks per hour for 128 MB.

So, if you almost want to search for the most advanced PaaS, you should go here: http://infoboxcloud.ru/jelastic/

It will be interesting to see how freemium model will take root in the Russian cloud hosting.
