The Finnish company “transported” its researchers to the very heart of Silicon Valley - to Palo Alto, where Facebook is also located. This happened quite a long time ago, and is an excellent symbol of the new face and new strategy of the company - the manufacturer of phones with controversial interfaces :) And here they are - the fruits of the new strategy.
Firstly,
Nokia + Facebook is already interesting.
Nokia
announced a takeover a couple of weeks ago of Trolltech, a Norwegian cross-platform developer, the most famous of which is
Qt . Qt is a framework designed to integrate desktop, web and mobile into a single workspace. Mobile means different mobile operating systems. As Nokia representatives say, “With Trolltech, Nokia and third-party developers will be able to develop applications running on the Web, on Nokia phones and on PCs.” Sounds familiar?
You can agree with our
North American older brothers - this is a direct competitor for Google Android. And although Nokia,
unlike Sony-Ericsson , is not going to jump
from Symbian to Windows Mobile in the near future, this is still good news for everyone - for us, for tech users, for users, and for Nokia themselves.
')
Thirdly, Nokia has finally launched the first major service from the Ovi package. It is called Share on Ovi, and, by and large, this is the former site of
Twango , which Nokia acquired last year. Share on Ovi allows users to scatter their content across the network, computers and mobile phones.
Fourth,
Nokia launched Maps 2.0 - a very decent slightly convergent map service.
Fifth,
Nokia is expanding its music service , which so far is accessible to people who are already spoiled with good music. Englishmen naturally.
Well and sixthly -
Nokia opens a full-fledged mobile advertising platform.Considering that the Nokia brand is much more recognizable around the world than Google, you can predict something very interesting in the future. We will follow the developments and immediately inform you
on our blog .
