From idea to App Store in 24 hours

Hello, dear readers Habr!

A 24-hour marathon for the development of an iOS vision test app has just begun. The marathon itself is available at the link: twitch.tv . General chat for viewers and presenters in jabber'e: bdev@conference.mit.edu.

For the time allotted for the marathon, I will write an application for iOS6 + from scratch and post it in the App Store. In the program stream:
')

The idea of the application:

A simple eye test application, localized for the Russian and American App Store. On the screen there is a table of eye examination (tables of Snellen, Sivtsev, Golovin), which can be approached, removed by a slider from above. A random letter is highlighted, a selection of three letters appears at the bottom. According to the number of correct answers and the location of the letters is determined by the assessment of view.

The App Store already has a couple of similar applications, but they have several fatal flaws: they are paid, with ads or ugly. The application that I write today will be free, without advertising and open-source. No monetization methods are planned - I work for fun.

Waiting for you on stream!

PS Today I work without designers, so if you want to help me with the UI / UX applications, I will be very grateful. And, of course, the application can immediately be put in the portfolio.

Update on 11/11/13 12:05 PM: At the 22nd hour of development, the application successfully reached the status of "Waiting for Review". During the development I decided to abandon the "choice of the correct letter", because it seemed to me strange to play with myself guessing games. Therefore, the user is gently asked to close one eye first, indicate the lowest line that he sees, and then repeat the procedure for the second eye.

There are four tables in the appendix today: Snellen, Sivtseva, Golovin and E-type. Buttons of random selection of letters in the table, nice design, sharing in social networks and Easter eggs on the main screen included.

I apologize for such a stormy way of narration - I have not slept for more than a day, and now I am bowing to the pillow. All project code on github'e: github.com/backmeupplz/AmIBlind . Record stream on twitter: www.twitch.tv/backmeupplz/profile/pastBroadcasts .

Update on 11/16/13 1:43 PM: The application successfully hit the App Store. Thanks to everyone who helped with the development of tips and icons!

We download the free application on the link , check your vision, set 5 stars and write a positive review!

The more good reviews will dial the application, and the higher it rises in the ranking - the sooner we will arrange a new 24-hour marathon.

PSS I am a freelancer and in constant search for a new job. Write if there are interesting puzzles.
