Panel discussion “Creating standards for the industry of data centers in Russia” at the 5th DCD Converged Conference

Of particular interest among the participants of the conference was a panel discussion on the topic “Creating standards for the industry of data centers in Russia”, which was attended by Alexey Soldatov. DataPro's general director noted that due to differences in the infrastructure of electrical markets and approaches to their regulation in different countries, it’s not the most efficient way to approach specific tasks on the European market with American standards. “I consider it expedient to take into account the best developments of foreign recommendations and take them into account when developing domestic standards that reflect the features of the national infrastructure,” said Alexey Soldatov.

One of the critical issues raised in the panel discussion was the need to regulate the data center industry. With the fact that this industry exists in Russia, all the discussion participants agreed. "The success of Russia in the development of the telecommunications industry in the 1990s. they are connected with the absence of strict regulation, ”DataPro CEO emphasized. “I consider it expedient to go the same way when creating standards for the data center industry.”

The plans of this group include the development of industry standards that will be recognized in the Russian data center industry. The immediate plans of this group include the registration of the Association of data center industry participants and the creation of a standard for the data center construction process. Following this, work will begin on recommendations for the operation of the data center and the creation of engineering infrastructure.
