Anti-piracy manifesto on the concept of a new social contract of copyright in the digital age

Quite a few network users today, it is obvious that copyright is in deep crisis due to a serious technological leap in the development of file-sharing technologies. In accordance with the PPR manifest, proposed its vision of how to pardon millions of potential offenders and criminals, and set the course for non-commercial file sharing between users not to be considered piracy, as this is now regarded by the official doctrine adopted by the Kremlin and the copyrights.







The manifesto states that it is necessary to recognize legal private non-commercial file sharing on the Web and expand the concept of free use of works for personal non-commercial purposes (fair use) , legally enshrine free licenses in Russia (Creative Commons and General Public License), shorten the term of copyright: the minimum program is up to 50 years from the date of the author’s death, the maximum program is up to 15-20 years from the moment of publication of the work , to prohibit the use of DRM , and also to put up for public discussion a number of other equally important suggestions zheniy. In the future, based on it, a more comprehensive concept of reforming copyright in the digital age will be presented.



The discussion of the manifesto and the concept is conducted on the PPR forum , where everyone is invited to offer their edits, share opinions or make criticism. Some theses of the manifesto will form the basis of the video created by the IPA and CPD .
