Vista problems with mysql

For my personal projects that I write at home, and these are recently web applications on Ruby on Rails, I always need a MySQL server running on my computer.

After installing the whists, I put the cut and rails without problems. The problems started after installing MySQL Server 5.0.51 . Those. He did not want to run, throwing out errors related to the configuration.

Googling, I learned that many are faced with such problems (but not all!).

Generally: if you are faced with the same problem, do not worry! Try to remove MySQL from your computer and install an older version - MySQL Server 5.0.45 from here . It helped me, and the server was installed and started without any problems!
