Having played a little bit with the preinstalled OS (
Xandros ) on
my Eee PC , I realized that I still need to install another system, especially since the choice is very large. After carefully studying the
forums dedicated to Eee , I realized that the most popular installable systems are Windows XP, eeeXubuntu, Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora. I dismissed the option with XP right away - for some reason I didn’t want to install this system, although it is worth noting that XP is very fast, and there are all the necessary drivers. But to think that it is better among Linux ... it is not even necessary to do this - here everyone chooses what he likes more. I like
Ubuntu . The only thing I was thinking about was choosing between Ubuntu and
eeeXubuntu (Xubuntu). Of course,
XFCE , as used in eeeXubuntu, is less demanding on resources, but I wanted to use
Compiz Fusion in my daily work.
As some users point out , Ubuntu is
faster , and for some
it is faster, even with encryption enabled . This ultimately influenced my choice.
So, at the end of this post I will install Ubuntu, adapt it for Eee PC, activate Compiz and fully localize the system.
