Microsoft has released a free antivirus

Microsoft has announced the release of the final version of Windows Defender , a utility designed to combat spyware. The company claims that the developers managed to get rid of at least 400 different errors found in the second beta version of the program, which was released in February of this year. By the way, during this time Windows Defender was loaded more than 34 million times.

Along with the eliminated errors, users of Windows XP and Windows 2003 get the opportunity to contact the support service twice free of charge. The sad news is that in the final version of Windows Defender, support for Windows 2000 has been discontinued.

Currently, the utility, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Microsoft website, is available only with the English interface language, however soon Windows Defender is planned to be released in German, Japanese and other languages.
