UN Representative expelled from Sudan for blogging
Sudanese authorities have decided to expel UN Representative Jan Pronk from the country for blogging and publishing “dangerous” information about the situation in Darfur - the western province of Sudan.
In particular, a high-ranking official reported in his diary about the defeat of government troops, the dismissal of several military commanders, as well as the mobilization of police units, theoretically capable of raising the fighting spirit of the army.
Representatives of the press face difficulties in trying to get into the conflict region, therefore there is very little truth about the situation there. Taking advantage of his position, Jan Pronk pulled a grain of information out of the confrontation center and shared it with the Internet public, for which he suffered.
