Synterra connects Moscow schools to WiMAX network

Until the end of 2006, Synterra intends to provide WiMAX-access to the Internet for 90 Moscow schools - these plans are implemented as part of the national project “Education”. Until the end of the 2nd quarter of 2007, 128 Moscow educational institutions will be connected to the Synterra WiMAX network, Prime-TASS reports. Being an authorized representative of the general contractor of the national project - RTKomm.Ru, the operator Synterra organizes dedicated VPN channels with a data transfer rate of 128 Kbps.

Recall that 3 billion rubles was allocated from the state budget for the implementation of the Education program. According to the program, 52940 Russian schools and other educational institutions should get access to the Network by the end of 2007. Before the end of 2006, about 18 thousand schools will be connected, and in 2007 - another 34.94 thousand.
