Professional photographers are sounding the alarm. This is not the first time their beautiful photographs, which are posted on public display on the Internet, are stolen and sold on their own behalf into commercial photobanks. This time, Icelandic photographer Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir, whose pictures were sold on
iStockphoto, became a victim of thieves.
Unscrupulous swindlers even sold their own self-portrait of the photo artist.
Of course, according to the rules of the photobank, you can only sell your own shots there. Therefore, the thief presented himself as the author. He even started his own portfolio: there were 31 photographs, of which 25 actually belonged to Rebecca. As soon as it became known about the scandal, the user under the nickname “vulcanacar” was removed from the site, only a
screenshot was saved.

Interestingly, the same Rebecca is the second time when, despite her wishes, photos are sold in photo banks. Apparently, this is a very common type of fraud. Apparently, it makes sense for other professional photographers to reduce the maximum size of their photos to such a quality that they cannot be interpolated. Rebecca has now set a maximum size of
800 pixels on the long side .
