Certificates MySQL DBA and MySQL Developer for $ 50
Yesterday, Oracle Certification launched the beta-certification of MySQL 5.6 DBA and MySQL 5.6 Developer Beta-program will last about two months. At this time you have the opportunity to receive certificates for 50 USD
This is the first official MySQL exam in a very long time: the previous one was for version 5.0 and many bugs have flowed since that time. For me personally, this event is also significant because I took an active part in creating and editing questions along with other engineers from the MySQL Support team. And we have something to be proud of.
Oracle Certification has very high requirements for questions and answer choices. They should be:
Understandable to an international audience. Therefore, in formulations, we avoided expressions that cause discrepancies. Most of the questions reviewed were people who have non-native English and they point to missed inaccuracies. Or, on the contrary, they pointed out English-speaking "non-technical" specialists from Oracle Certification on commonly used terms that do not cause discrepancies.
Questions should be read unequivocally. That is, either the answer should be the same in every possible case, or the features of the environment should be clearly listed.
Answers must also be unambiguous.
Pretty complicated. That is, there are few questions to answer for which it is enough to read the book “Introduction to MySQL” or the official manual. Preference was given to questions that required practical knowledge. By the way, sometimes there were some funny disagreements which question was considered difficult. For example, I took a couple of examples from my practice, by which I saw a lot of tickets and bogus. That is, for the MySQL-specialist there is some kind of snag. A "non-technical" representative of Oracle Certification wrote a comment: "Well, it's very simple!"
The style of the answers must meet the standards and they should not contain hints.
')
I probably forgot something. At least three technical specialists worked on each question: the author and at least two reviewers plus Oracle Certification specialists who were concerned with style, standards compliance and literacy.
The exam was not easy. If you decide to take it, look at the list from the “Exam Topics” tab. These are topics that you need to know to successfully answer questions. Manual-book, as it was for the certificate for 5.0, now there is no. There are trainings, but they are not 100% consistent with the exam.
There are more questions in the beta version than in the final version and not all of them will be taken into account (see Exam Scoring Policy ), but this is a great opportunity to get a certificate.
